How do you feel about this part of the Patriot Act?

a very wise person, a long time ago, said %26#039;never give up your personal freedoms, in exchange for security.%26#039; (if you dont know who it was, dont worry about it).

part of the Patriot Act%26#039;s scope of %26#039;warrantless searches%26#039; include financial institutions, such as Banks and Credit Unions. guess what else this travesty to our freedoms and privacy ALSO considers %26#039;financial institutions%26#039;.....

mortgage companies

airlines

auto dealers

pawn shops

libraries

restaurants

the US Post Office

YOUR doctor%26#039;s office

YOUR attorney%26#039;s office, etc etc.

they can swoop in to any and all of these without so much as approval from a qualified judge, and confiscate every single piece of information they want.

how does that make you feel?

%26quot;And maybe I run into so many people who are hostile just because they can%26#039;t open their minds to the possibilities that sometimes the need to mess with their heads outweighs the millstone of humiliation.%26quot; -- Fox Mulder

How do you feel about this part of the Patriot Act?

You have your facts wrong.

Read the actual act, rather than interest group propaganda.

How do you feel about this part of the Patriot Act?

Rotten

How do you feel about this part of the Patriot Act?

I work for a credit union and the Patriot Act protects against money laundering and tax fraud. It also prevents us from doing business with people who may have aided things such as 9/11. It doesn%26#039;t prevent any innocent person from being able to do anything they could do otherwise, why are you so worried?

How do you feel about this part of the Patriot Act?

Join the ACLU contributor list then you%26#039;ll receive updates explaining how all these instutitutions can be blended into one continous search that can go from state to state and even assist federal agents in tracking your every movement if they so desire to waste time and money. Think of it if you have nothing to hide and aren%26#039;t the wiser its no problem. But if you have nothing to hide but realize they are breathing down your neck then its a real civil liberties issue that can either empower you to take action or leave you feeling helpless or the victim of a Bourne Identity type nervous breakdown. This is not a drill.

How do you feel about this part of the Patriot Act?

i%26#039;m very uncomfortable with our giving up these rights ... i think we were manipulated into getting it done in a panic state.

once they have it .. even if we take it away ... they are gonna keep what we have ... let%26#039;s get real here.

How do you feel about this part of the Patriot Act?

%26quot;...a very wise person, a long time ago, said %26#039;never give up your personal freedoms, in exchange for security.%26#039;...%26quot;

Your quote is from a different world, pal. Most people understand the stupidity of basing their geopolitical beliefs on something said a couple of hundred years ago in a much smaller world that didn%26#039;t have millions of sub-humans fanatically dedicated to slaughtering every %26quot;infidel%26quot; man, woman and child on the planet.

As for the dreaded Patriot Act and its temporary suspension of citizens%26#039; rights -- if you%26#039;re innocent you ain%26#039;t got nothing to worry about.

Also, there%26#039;s not a single word in your non-question rant about what YOU would do to try and protect us from terrorism. How easy it is for some airheads to criticize. How hard it is to come up with an alternative solution that really works.

Try spending some time in the 21st Century for a change.

How do you feel about this part of the Patriot Act?

I hate the whole thing. Can%26#039;t wait for Hillary to take the white house and get rid of it.

It is merely a vehicle for the government to keep track of us citizens.... Hitler did the same thing...and several other malicious dictators like Stalin......

He and his thugs are traitors..

Why can every other race in the USA seperate themselves from the rest of us except the white race?

Is there even such thing as the white race anymore or has this been stripped away by our government? I see black colleges, jewish organizations, Ucranian Credit Unions, and the list goes on. If seperation is racism, why is this not???

Why can every other race in the USA seperate themselves from the rest of us except the white race?

Different strokes for different folks. We live in a society today that has everything no matter what it is blown way out of content or context which ever you want to use. People in this world are not going to let a sleeping dog lye sleeping without wanting to wake it up. You wake up one morning and say I will start this new program and the next thing you know someone will come along and ask why didn%26#039;t you ask me if I wanted to join. Bingo conflict.

Why can every other race in the USA seperate themselves from the rest of us except the white race?

The masons are a all white organization.

Why can every other race in the USA seperate themselves from the rest of us except the white race?

I%26#039;m sorry this does not really answer your question but I have to say to Mrfox that he is entirely wrong.. there are black Masons

I think that most people who join these things think that whites can own/belong to whatever they want.. To me I feel like it is a reverse type of discrimination.

Why can every other race in the USA seperate themselves from the rest of us except the white race?

I think it is a matter of population, there could be a white people union in Africa for example. If we are the most then we do not need to be in unions and stuff...i could be wrong of-course

Why can every other race in the USA seperate themselves from the rest of us except the white race?

I am not sure if I get your question. Hey, if you ever would like to join a Korean dance club or Ukranian cooking club, I am more than sure they would welcome you. Likewise, look at all the Mexicans and Asians in the protestant/catholic church. Besides, black colleges are not all black, they are historically black in that they attract black students. There is no admission rule that they would not consider someone who%26#039;s not black. Therefore, it%26#039;s not seperation. I think the dean of the Howard law school, a historically black college, is an Asian. I went to a very elite East Coast college, and frankly, it%26#039;s 95% white. That by itself does not prove that there is a seperation policy, but rather a lack of diversity. A lack of diversity at Arabic poetry recitals does not mean that there is seperation, but simply mean that many white people do not know Arabic.

Why can every other race in the USA seperate themselves from the rest of us except the white race?

It%26#039;s an interesting point, and one that has sparked the debate recently over %26quot;affirmative action%26quot; policies at several major universities.

The idea behind these %26quot;separatist organizations%26quot; is one that says these groups have been unfairly compromised in the past, and the organization is attempting to make up for some of that compromise by providing certain advantages to its members.

One of the great things about our country is the right to peaceably assemble...and form any private group they want to. Even the neo-nazis can form their own organization in this country. They have the right to say whatever they want to say. I don%26#039;t have to agree with them, but I support their right to do so. As long as there are no government dollars being spent with the organization, it can do whatever it wants (within legal bounds).

Once federal or state dollars go to the organization, then it becomes bound to non-discrimination policies.

Why can every other race in the USA seperate themselves from the rest of us except the white race?

Huhhhhhhhhh! You make no sense.

Are you really so empty minded that you do not realize how entitled white people have been for over two hundred years in your country. The United States was built on the backs of slaves.

Most colleges, organizations are white owned, banks etc. What colour are the power brokers in the US.

I feel sad for you. Really. You do not ask questions, you make racist inflammatory remarks and end them with question marks.

I am sure you understand this so I imagine you are just some lonely pimply faced jerk who has tired of playing with himself and went on the internet.

You are a little weasel.

One question, do you torture animals?

you should talk to someone who can set you straight, maybe a family doctor or a pastor, whatever works.

Grow up.

Why can every other race in the USA seperate themselves from the rest of us except the white race?

If you want to segregate your self so badly take some of your friends and move out to the middle of Montana or Wyoming and leave the rest of us in peace.

Has anyone attempted to cash the checks, I deposited the smaller one yesterday?

hoping that this was a genuine sweepstakes, I do enter these things sometimes and I just knew that this was real, I even did research online for the company, banks and credit unions associated with the sweepstakes and checks and could not locate any negative information. I don%26#039;t know if the check will clear but I will certainly keep you posted

Has anyone attempted to cash the checks, I deposited the smaller one yesterday?

Chances are it%26#039;s a SCAM, I would HIGHLY suggest not spending ANY of the money for 30 days, it may %26quot;clear%26quot; your bank in 7, but it isn%26#039;t really clear....the way they make the checks has them boucning around for weeks. Don%26#039;t trust people who just hand out money, it%26#039;s never legit. There%26#039;s no such thing as a free lunch. I work for a bank and see way too many people bring in these checks and then end up owing the bank money because they spent the cash before it was verified.

Has anyone attempted to cash the checks, I deposited the smaller one yesterday?

If you%26#039;ve already deposited the check into your account you could be in for more than you bargained for. It is very easy for scam artists to get your bank information because you deposited the check and clean out your account. I%26#039;ll keep my fingers crossed that doesn%26#039;t happen.

I'm trying to determine if there really is a vocation in documenting the condition of property

financed by lending institutions; banks, credit unions, savings %26amp; loans, insurance companies, mortgage companies, or any other source of financing. I have seen an internet offer to provide a list of these, where a person with a camera(digital preferred)and internet access can contract to provide these records. Before sending any money for this source of companies, I thought I would publish this question to ascertain the validity of such an enterprize. Anyone doing this? I%26#039;ll not expect answers from the Metro Atlanta area as I would be competing in this market, especially northwest Metro. If there are positive answers, are the reports of earning $60-80 or more per report realistic? Also, are car expenses reimbursed? Thanks To Anyone Responding!!! James Anderson

gobldgok_99@yahoo.com

I%26#039;m trying to determine if there really is a vocation in documenting the condition of property that is?

Yea it%26#039;s called being a surveyor! and you need to be qualified! otherwise it won%26#039;t be taken seriously...welcome to life!

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

I%26#039;m planning to leave for Europe in about a week and a half. But where do I exchange my USD for Euros? I%26#039;ve heard that credit unions or FedX does this service.

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

Airports, European McDonalds (seriously) I don%26#039;t know about credit unions or FedEx.

Note in response to the people recommending ATMs: If you pay attention to the signs on ATMs in Europe, you will see that they usually charge around 2-3% of your withdrawal as a fee. If you take out 200 Euro, you could potentially pay 6 Euro (or even more) as a fee.

Airports usually have the worst exhange rates, I agree.

Remember you can use check cards with a visa logo some places. But European credit / check cards usually don%26#039;t have the magnetic stripe, they usually have the gold smart card chip.

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

the bank

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

Hate to sound like a smart-a.ss, but... a nearby currency exchange...?

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

It is easiest to do at the currency exchange booth at the airport. When I went to Europe last summer, I just used my ATM card when I got there, and it issued Euros. It is all pretty simple. Using the card also means that you are not carrying cash around, and the machines work as well and as easily as they do here.

Have a great time!

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

When I went to Germany I was able to do it at their airport. I was just a tiny drop more expensive than looking for an exchange on the street, but it was well worth it.

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

an airport

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

most airports also offer currency exchange services as well

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

You can wait until you get to your country of destination. At the airport they have an ATM machine you can make a withdrawal from.

On your trip either make purchases using your ATM card or just withdrawal euros from any ATM machine, they are located everywhere and at every post office.

NOTE: ATM machines in Europe take money out of your checking account only, not from savings.

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

There are what is called Currency exchanges in major cities. Look in the phone book. And there is always ones at Airports that fly abroad. I flew to Canada and exchange my money right at the Airport before I departed, and did the same thing when I arrived back in the states.

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

You%26#039;ll get the best exchange rate by withdrawing money from your checking account via an ATM in Europe. You must have a numerical PIN number. Check the back of your card to see if your bank is on the PLUS or CIRRUS system. That%26#039;s the kind of ATM you%26#039;ll want to use.

Hope that helps!

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

Airports usually have the worst exchange rate. Banks are the best.

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

If you choose to use your ATM card let your bank know. If they see unusual activity thy may suspend activity till you can be reached. I would carry some cash one me but I would use my ATM card. You%26#039;ll get a better rate plus it is easier. Odds are your hotel has a machine in it somewhere.

Where do I go to exchange US dollars to Euros?

Train stations and airports are best. ATM machines charge too much and many may not take your card. Travelers checks are good too and I never had problems cashing them. I know American Express travel has an exchange booth if you need to change before you leave.

Need a bank accnt?

my sister was put in the chex system last year for her irresponsibility with money, i cant even cosign with her on an account so i can help her open one. is there a way she can open an account with a real bank account? not one of those %26quot;netbank%26quot;...i heard that some credit unions do allow, but i dont know which ones. does anyone know any banks that will open an account for my sister? she lives in las vegas, nevada...thanks in advance

Need a bank accnt?

Where I live, there are several banks that will let you open an account, as long as two years have past since you were first put in chex systems. look around for one of the bigger banks, you might have better luck.

Need a bank accnt?

I suggest a credit union, if there is one fairly close to her. They are much more lenient, and it usually doesn%26#039;t take much money to keep an account open. If she uses a credit union, she may be able to set up a little savings account that any overdrafts could be pulled from.

What might be more beneficial for her is to have her paychecks loaded onto a prepaid debit card and just use the card until it%26#039;s used up. That sounds a little cold-blooded, but it will save on NSF check charges. Some people just weren%26#039;t cut out to reconcile bank records and keep their checking accounts up.

I have an aunt with the same problem, and it has nothing to do with age or anything else, just the fact that she isn%26#039;t good with it. She%26#039;s almost 60 now, and has had this problem since she got her very first job at age 18.

I know you sincerely want to help her, but in some circumstances and situations, it%26#039;s hard to do. Maybe you could set aside a little money (not a whole lot, because she%26#039;s going to spend it for you) to bail her out with from time to time.

One plan that may work well is to set aside, oh, say $150. When she calls and says she%26#039;s in trouble, tell her you can loan her $150, but she%26#039;ll have to pay it back and then don%26#039;t loan her any more until she%26#039;s repaid it. That%26#039;s what my husband and I did. We had friends who would borrow and borrow until we had a hard time paying our own bills. So when Friend A needed money, we%26#039;d loan whatever out, but when Friend B came around if Friend A hadn%26#039;t paid it back, we%26#039;d say, %26quot;Well, when Friend A pays us what he owes us, we can loan you ___.%26quot; That worked pretty well for us and cut down on the number of people seeking handouts.

It may be time for some %26quot;tough love.%26quot;

Need a bank accnt?

If she has paid off the debt to her previous bank, get in touch with Chexsystems and you can be removed from their records. If not, it will be very hard to find a bank that will give her an account.
