Of course you are taking a risk by sending 100% payment to a supposed supplier in China and then sitting there with your fingers crossed, hoping he actually ships the goods. Then there%26#039;s the risk that you receive something different from what you thought you were buying (happens all the time), or you get your shipment but there are far too many defective products.

Buying from China is a business unto itself. You are ostensibly in the business of SELLING electronics. Why on earth are you also trying to get into the business of BUYING electronics from China? To buy from China you need someone on the ground in China to survey the supplier and inspect the freight before it ships - these are standard operating procedures.

You should use a China sourcing company like mine, Chinatown Sourcing. We handle the inspection, payment, logistics, and vendor management. We charge a 15-20% management fee and let you pay us, an American company, rather than sending your money into a black hole... You can pay us a 50% deposit and the balance 30 days after the goods ship. In the long run you will save money buying through a sourcing company rather than trying to source direct from China yourself . That is not your business. When your pipes are leaking do you try to fix them yourself or call a plumber?

Good luck, Hank

Whatever you agreed upon on credit card is considered done thus you can%26#039;t claim back your money. I suggest you use Letter of Credit (L/C) instead of telegraphic transfer. An L/C is a piece of document obtainable only from banks. You pay the amount you would for your order. Mail the L/C to your vendor in China. Once you%26#039;ve received the goods, you may instruct the bank to release the funds. This way, you%26#039;re protected against fraud or scam.

hey JT, sounds like a scam to me dude. both methods of payment HAVE NIL guarantee!

let me tell u wot hapened to a friend, who u r starting to sound like. my friend was doing the same as u, paid for goods etc, goods arrived , BUT!!!! 30% were FAULTY...why ihear u ask...coz they seller KNEW worked it out that it would be more hassle and cost more to return the goods than to throw them away.

its just pot luck really on who yuo trade with in China, i%26#039;ve been trading in garments for over 2 years and had NO probs, but i travel there frequently, yet i%26#039;ve heard people who have been scammed to the bone. literally taken to the cleaners! cant blame anyone really, except themselves.

You got the DREADED western union request. Stay clear of anyone who asks for western union. If you want to import goods from China, go to www.alibaba.com and look at the platinum sellers in electronics. They have photos are are legit. They will ask for a bank transfer more than likely, so you%26#039;ll have thier bank account details in case anything goes wrong. Another problem other than scammers with importing is IMPORT TAX. Sometimes customs open parcels and charge UK duty on the goods.

T/T is one normal payment way in so many international deals. You can try to control the risk, it is as following:

1.you will remit 20-30% of payment as deposit

2.after the supplier delivery the goods to carrier such as shipping company(you%26#039;d better to appoint one shipping company you believe), the carrier will issue B/L(bill of loading) documents to supplier

3.the supplier will fax the B/L to you and you can pay the balance and supplier will express the B/L to your office

4.while the goods reach the port , you can load the goods via the B/L

BUT, if you are not business man but only want buy somethings yourself, I shall tell you to give up this order. Almost 90% of these kinds order are traps or maybe not traps but providing the fake products.
